Dandadan Season 2 Episode 2 Review: Supernatural Intensity Unleashed

episode 2 of dandadan

If you’re searching for a Dandadan Season 2 episode 2 review that’s bursting with honest hype and real feels, welcome to the club! Episode 2 just dropped, and yes, I’m still recovering from all that supernatural chaos (in the best possible way). Let’s break it down together — because, honestly, who else can you scream with about THAT scene?

The Plot Thickens In Episode 2

I don’t know about you, but I was hooked from the very first minute. This episode wastes zero time throwing us back into the wild rollercoaster that is Momo and Okarun’s fight with mongolion death worm. The story kicks off with the aftermath of last episode’s cliffhanger, and things escalate — fast. We’ve got mongolion death worm, introduction to evil eye, frantic chases, and that signature blend of supernatural horror and pure comedy that Dandadan nails.

If you’ve watched this episode, you know there’s a pulse-pounding showdown going on, and the stakes are higher than ever. The mysterious entity (no spoilers — but WHAT?) turns the tension up, forcing our favorites to team up in ways we didn’t see coming.

Animation & Sound: Dandadan’s Style Never Misses

The main reason I fell in love with Dandadan (and maybe you did too) is the absolutely bonkers animation style. Studio Science SARU is in their bag this season. The action scenes are energetic, sharp, and — dare I say — a little unhinged (in a good way). There’s this kinetic, camera-swinging intensity that makes every punch and scream hit so much harder.

One moment that really got my heart pounding? The distorted, jerky POV shots during the chase. If you didn’t get goosebumps, check your pulse! And the sound design — from the menacing evil eye screeches to that playful, synthy background music — ties it all together. Huge shoutout, also, to the opening theme. Tell me you’re not humming it right now.

Character Development: Momo, Okarun, and The Crew Shine

This episode gives us some real growth for Momo. Last season, she sometimes played it cool, but now? We’re seeing her protectiveness and vulnerability in full force, especially when the stakes threaten her friends. I loved the split-second choices she made — and yes, that little scream of hers was *relatable* as heck.

Okarun’s journey is equally compelling. He’s not just the comic relief this time; he’s holding his own, dealing with fears head-on, and really stepping up. You can feel the chemistry and trust building between him and Momo. These two are such dorks, but their friendship is everything. Did anyone else cackle at the banter even amidst chaos?

  • Exhilarating supernatural fight scenes
  • Laugh-out-loud comical moments to break the tension
  • Genuine character development for the whole squad
  • Some animation shortcuts were noticeable, but forgivable

Final Thoughts: Is Dandadan Season 2 Still Worth the Hype?

Honestly? This episode delivers in spades. It manages to ramp up the supernatural tension while never losing that cheeky sense of humor Dandadan fans adore. If you’re hunting for the “best supernatural anime 2025” contender, Dandadan is definitely in the running.

My only gripe? Occasionally, the pacing sprints ahead so quickly, you barely have time to breathe (or laugh). But personally, I’d take a hyperactive Dandadan over a sluggish one any day.

What did you think of Episode 2? Were you as hyped by the showdown as I was? Let’s talk in the comments!

  • Pros: Unique animation, high-stakes action, character growth, killer soundtrack
  • Cons: Blink-and-you-miss-it pacing, a few rushed scenes

That’s it for this week’s Dandadan Season 2 review. Dive into the comments — and tell me, what was your favorite moment? How would you rate this arc so far? Stay tuned, and keep streaming for more supernatural mayhem!
