Sakamoto Days Part 2 Episode 1 Review: Summer 2025 Blasts Off With Unstoppable Action

Intense Return to the World of Sakamoto (Sakamoto Days Part 2 review)

Sakamoto Days Part 2 Anime fans, gather around! Episode1 just dropped, and honestly? It’s the kind of explosive comeback I’ve been craving all year.If you’ve followed this series, you know it’s a wild blend of comedy, action, and the everyday troubles of an ex-assassin trying to live that “normal” life. Well, TMS Entertainment wasted zero time — this episode throws us straight back into the fray, instantly reminding us why Sakamoto Days deserves a spot on any best action anime 2025 shortlist.

Plot Summary

sakamoto days part2 scene

After the cliffhanger last season, I couldn’t wait to see where things picked up — and wow, did they deliver. Part 2 Episode 1 opens with Sakamoto, our lovable ex-hitman now running a convenience store, thrust right back into chaos as old enemies close in. He’s not getting any peace, is he? The tension is palpable, and the opening scene had my heart pounding as Sakamoto and his quirky team gear up for new threats while juggling family life.this episode showed us shin facing new enemy and upgrade of shins skills.

This episode masterfully balances slice-of-life humor — you know, Sakamoto’s gang deadpan reactions to absurd situations — with stylish, razor-sharp fight choreography. There’s an underlying sense that the stakes are much higher this time. The arrival of new antagonists and the hint of a brewing larger conflict have me genuinely hyped for the rest of the season.

Animation & Sound

Can we talk about how gorgeous this episode looks? TMS Entertainment clearly poured their heart into every frame. The action sequences are fluid, and I honestly rewatched shinvs saw fight twice just to soak in the slick choreography. Even the quieter moments, like Sakamoto’s heartwarming scenes with his daughter, pop off the screen thanks to expressive character animation.

The soundtrack, as always, nails the atmosphere — equal parts quirky and pulse-quickening. The OP? It’s an instant earworm, and I’m not skipping it any time soon.

  • Top-tier fight animation
  • Engaging, playful soundtrack
  • Great pacing — not a dull moment!

Character Development

Sidekicks Shin and Lu are back, bringing plenty of laughs and some surprising emotional beats. Shin’s psychic commentary during the chaos? Never gets old. I’m rooting for these characters more than ever.

Sakamoto has very less screen time in episode 1 but the anticipation of what sakamoto is going to do when facing stronger opponents with anime only fans has been higher than ever.

  • Sakamoto’s layered characterization
  • Effective and funny supporting cast
  • Hints of upcoming growth for fan favorites

Pros & Cons

  • Pro: Immediate, jaw-dropping action right out of the gate
  • Pro: Humor lands without derailing the tension
  • Pro: Animation quality has leveled up
  • Con: Pacing might be a bit fast for newcomers — new characters arrive hard and fast!
  • Con: A few side characters feel a tad underused (but it’s only the first episode!)

Final Thoughts: Sakamoto Days Part 2 Review & Fan Takeaways

Pulling no punches, Sakamoto Days Part 2 Episode 1 is a riotous and heartfelt return — possibly setting a new bar for what we expect from best action anime 2025. I loved the blend of laugh-out-loud absurdity and white-knuckle intensity. Was it perfect? Not quite, but it’s laying killer groundwork for a season that could be something special.

Quick question: Did that final fight scene have anyone else grinning like an idiot? Because I can’t be the only one. There’s clearly so much more in store for Sakamoto and his gang, and if this premiere is any indication, we’re in for a wild ride.

What did you think of Part 2’s big opening? Does it deserve a spot among your top action anime picks this year? Drop your own highlights (and gripes) in the comments — let’s geek out together!
